Clarion is a small town with a big heart. This is why we have made it our mission to not only help those who find us, but also reach out to others with the goal of building a stronger community.
There are a number of ways we have done this in the past, and we will continue to do so in the future.
Ruck and Roll – February 22nd, 2022
On Tuesday, February 22nd, we had our first ever Ruck and Roll for Veterans Mental Health.
Many volunteers from different organizations came out and helped us plan and run this event. Present that evening were: the Clarion County Coalition for Suicide Prevention, Clarion University’s ROTC and our special event speaker, Randall Cunningham, a United States Marine Corps veteran.
The night started with all volunteers and participants gathered to listen to Mr. Cunningham, who described the challenges of reentering civilian life after returning from active duty. He credits his own transition to finding a new skill to learn, encouraging others to jump into a new challenge, and finding a group of like-minded people.
At this time, the ZCP Reinforcement Program was announced and explained. Any military veteran, regardless of financial situation, is eligible for a free membership to Clarion MMA.
After the announcements, 37 participants gathered outside and began their ruck of 2.2 kilometers, down Main Street and back. A second tour followed the first, and upon the return all participants were handed their event patch. A free introductory Jiu-jitsu class was then offered to the participants.
Clarion MMA No-Bake-ing Day – June 3rd, 2022
Clarion MMA played host to a fun event for their students. This free baking day was open to all students, parents and friends. Using a recipe, all participants helped to create, and then take home several batches of no-bake cookies.
Seidle’s of Clarion Partnership – August 2022
Local businesses, Clarion Mixed Martial Arts and Seidle’s of Clarion came up with a mutually beneficial arrangement. For the entire month of August, Clarion MMA promoted Seidle’s of Clarion, encouraging our community to shop locally, at this dealership. In exchange, Seidle’s of Clarion promised to donate 1% of the purchase price for every vehicle they sold during the month. At the conclusion of August, Byan Ruth, (of Seidle’s) reached out to Leo LeFay, (of Clarion MMA), to present their donation of Fifteen hundred dollars for the Zenith Community Program. This donation will fund programs that allow Clarion MMA to continue providing access to arts, fitness, education and personal empowerment opportunities to those in our area.
Mews and Brews – October 5th, 2022
Always happy to help, the Zenith Community Program, helped facilitate and run the event known as Mews & Brews, where attendees could meet with the adoptable cats from Tri-County Animal Rescue Center. This evening was full of cat themed fun, and brought together a few local businesses with the purpose of collecting donations for animals in need.
Infusion Nightclub and Grille – January 21st, 2023
When Clarion MMA announced their upcoming Parent’ Night Out, the owners of Infusion Nightclub, in Clarion, generously donated wristbands that we could offer to any parent who signed up for our Parent’s Night Out. These wristbands would allow the wearer to watch the band, “Dressed to Kill” perform, with no cover charge. In return we shared this partnership on our social media platforms, promoting their event.
Dine to Donate – February 26th, 2023
Our most recent partnership was made with Clarion River Brewing Company, for February 26th. In this partnership, we offered to direct businesses to their establishment, in return, CRBC offered to donate 10% of their sales from from that day to Zenith Community Program.
